Coffee, Coolers, and Cables: The Anatomy of our Bike Swaps
If you want to know what 15 years of growth looks like, look no further than our living room floor. It is currently a sea of bins, tablets, and stationery supplies.
The air smells like Congress Coffee (the best perks of the job!), and the YCAP coolers are standing by to be loaded with food for our 180-person volunteer army. In the corner, the Wicomm radios are charging—a vital piece of the puzzle to keep our team safe and responsive.
When we started, we didn’t need Wi-Fi boosters or a dozen tablets. But as our proprietary intake process has become more sophisticated, so has our gear. It’s a lot of work. It’s a lot of cables. It’s a lot of sandwiches. And it’s a lot more smiles.
Is it worth it? When we see the community come together, the answer is always the same. Every single time.
