A New Cycle of Care: Our Strategic Alliance with Hearts Centre

  • News

Community work is about showing up when it matters most. Our Strategic Alliance with Hearts Centre was forged during a logistics challenge in Edmonton, where their Founder personally ensured that bikes donated by the community found a secure and purposeful home.

The Facts of the Save: When a logistics gap left us with 45 bikes in need of a home, the Founder of Hearts Centre immediately stepped in. They coordinated the pickup of two full truckloads, ensuring these assets remained in the Circular Economy. Hearts Centre is a Registered Non-Profit (currently applying for Charity status) that focuses on providing refurbished bikes to children and families in need.

A Call for Help: We Need Mechanics! To get these bikes out to Edmonton families, Hearts Centre relies on one dedicated volunteer mechanic who travels from Stony Plain. They desperately need more volunteer bike mechanics. If you have the skills to help refurbish these bikes, you can directly impact a child’s mobility this summer.

New Initiative: The Easter Campaign 🐣 Beyond the bikes, Hearts Centre is launching a community initiative to ensure no family goes without a holiday celebration. They are currently seeking sponsors to provide:

  • Easter Dinners for local families.
  • Family Easter Baskets to bring joy to children.

If you or your business would like to sponsor a family dinner or provide baskets, please reach out.

We glanced at other cyclist while cycle commuting in January 2005, spoke at the bike racks, and we’ve been together since.
