Architects of Change: Scaling Our Software Vision with Arcurve
In 2013, we realized that the old way of running a bike swap couldn’t keep up with our vision. We didn’t just look for a solution—we built and coded one.
Alberta Bike Swap is powered by our proprietary technology. Chris and Laura Grant designed and copyrighted Bicycle Swap Software to solve the specific, complex needs of a high-volume, secure bike exchange. As a Woman in Tech, Laura led the charge in ensuring a secure and verifiable Chain of Ownership was hard-coded into the DNA of every event and every bike exchange.
Our software was the engine, but as we grew, we encountered new pressures. Success brought bottlenecks that threatened to slow down our already events. This is where our strategic alliance with Arcurve became vital.
We met Arcurve at a CBC Calgary Food Bank reception. Through conversation we knew that Arcurve’s founder was cut from the same cloth of caring and community kindness.
Arcurve joined us as specialized software advisors and developers, not to replace our vision, but to help it breathe. They recognized the value of our copyrighted IP and stepped in to:
- Analyze & Optimize: Their experts provided the high-level advice needed to identify and break through growth bottlenecks.
- Coding Support: They provided technical muscle to refine our existing code for better performance under pressure.
- Volunteer Power: They didn’t just stay in the office; Arcurve staff joined us on the floor as volunteers to see exactly how their advice translated to real-world impact.
We’ve grown every year, and with that growth comes new challenges. We are currently living in the hope of a grant to implement Arcurve’s latest wisdom and strategic advice—taking our software foundation into the next decade of efficiency. We are honoured to be an Arcurve strategic alliance. Their support, kindness, and professional wisdom have helped us protect our intellectual property while expanding our reach.
Arcurve didn’t just give us advice; they respected our work and our IP and we don’t trust just anyone with our life’s work. They helped us turn our software design into a scalable powerhouse that supports us today and into the future.
Support the organizations that support local innovation. Check out Arcurve’s work and join us at the next swap to see our custom software in action!
