Countdown to Alberta Bike Swap events: 102 Alliances and the Power of Playing Nicely

As we count down 6 days to the Calgary Bike Swap 13 days to Edmonton Bike Swap and 36 days to Calgary Climate Week, our hearts are full of gratitude. Over the last 15 years, we haven’t just built a bike swap; we’ve built a network of 102 strategic alliances that span the province and beyond. We’ve spoken at and attended international innovation and cycling events to show the power of community.

To the bike groups and community organizations that “play nicely” with others: your support means the world to us. We’ve received so many messages over the last few months from people who genuinely care that we continue this work. Those notes of encouragement have been our fuel as we gear up for another season.  How many bike swaps do you want?  Message us!

We have a deep respect for groups that do one thing and do it well. In a world where it’s tempting to try to be everything to everyone, there is immense value in specialization. While we focus on our tech-backed safety, the legal rigour, legitimate CAN-BIKE cycling education, and the validated carbon science of the swap so that our partners can focus on their own incredible missions.  We’re here to continue supporting our strategic alliances in adaptive cycling, triathlon events, youth programs, active transportation, bike tours, and the myriad of genuine “stay in their lane” support of one thing well.
