The Right to Wind in Your Hair: Our Strategic Alliance with Cycling Without Age Canada

  • News

Age or physical ability should never be a barrier to experiencing the beauty of Alberta’s pathways. Our Strategic alliance with Cycling Without Age Canada (CWACA) is dedicated to the idea that life doesn’t stop just because you can no longer pedal the bike yourself.

Cycling Without Age is a global movement with vibrant local chapters across Alberta. Volunteers (called pilots) take seniors and less-abled citizens out for rides in specially designed trishaws. It is a programme that fosters storytelling, builds bridges between generations, and reintroduces people to their own communities.

Our Strategic alliance with Cycling Without Age Canada is about more than just transport; it is about social inclusion and mental well-being. By providing seniors and those with limited mobility the wind in their hair, this organizsation tackles isolation through the simple joy of a bike ride.

We focus on the mechanics of a better society. We provide the marketplace for bikes, and Cycling Without Age Canada provides the compassion. Together, we are ensuring that Calgary’s pathways remain accessible to every citizen, regardless of age.

We glanced at other cyclist while cycle commuting in January 2005, spoke at the bike racks, and we’ve been together since.
